Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  What are the ride distances?
A.  The SPOKES Ride 2012 offers 12, 25 and 50-mile rides.

Q.  Are there fundraising minimums?
A.  Yes. Please see the Fundraising page for details.

Q.  Does the $25 registration fee count toward my fundraising minimum?
A.  Yes. The registration fee is used to offset the cost of the event, but will show up as a donation on your page.

Q.  How is the fundraising handled?
A.  Once you register, you will receive an email with a link to your personal fundraising page. You can customize this page by adding a picture and text. Share that link with friends, family and coworkers so they can make an online contribution. Major credit cards are accepted.

Q.  Can a donation be paid for with a check?
A.  Yes. Checks should be made out to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Bring any checks to the Spokes Ride and we will add it to your fundraising amount.

Q.  How should I handle a corporate matching gift?
A.  Many companies have a matching gift program, but each is slightly different. Please check with your Human Resources office for your company's specific policies and procedures. Matching gifts are a great way to increase the amount of money you and your team can raise.

Q.  Are donations tax deductible?
A.  Yes. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law.

Q.  How are the funds raised used?
A.  Net proceeds from the SPOKES ride benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to fund research, education, survivor and awareness programs - both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide.
