Welcome to the SPOKES Ride 2011!

On October 2nd, 2011 SPOKES is holding the 2nd annual charity bike ride to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. If you or someone you know has been affected by suicide or mental illness, we're asking you to join SPOKES as a participant, volunteer, sponsor or donor.

This event was founded by Tanya and Jeremy Brittain six months after Jeremy's sister attempted to commit suicide after a long battle with depression.

An avid cyclist, Jeremy wanted to participate in a charity bike ride to benefit the AFSP, but was unable to find one. With the support of family, friends and some very generous sponsors, SPOKES was born.

Our mission is to erase the stigma associated with suicide and mental illness. We hope that by sharing our story without shame, we will help others do the same.

This year we have three different rides: 12, 25 and 50-mile routes. Take a look at the following video to experience some of last year's ride...

The 2010 ride was a day of beautiful weather, great people and a fantastic bike ride.

We wrapped up the day with 42 riders and over $25,000 raised for the AFSP! This could not have been possible without the support of our sponsors, fundraisers, volunteers and participants.
